Terms of Service
Last updated: April 25, 2026
These Terms govern your use of OpenBell, a trading journal, analytics, and preparation platform. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
OpenBell ("we", "us", "OpenBell") provides software for journaling trades, tracking performance, building watchlists, and preparing for trading sessions. OpenBell is a software tool only — it is not a broker, dealer, investment adviser, or fiduciary, and it does not execute trades or hold customer funds.
2. Eligibility & Accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
- One person per account. Sharing accounts is not permitted.
3. Subscriptions & Billing
OpenBell offers a free tier and a paid "Pro" subscription billed monthly or annually through Stripe. By upgrading, you authorize us (via Stripe) to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel. Full billing terms — including renewal, cancellation, and refund policy — are described on the Billing & Refund Policy page.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use OpenBell for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable regulation.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or interfere with the service.
- Upload malicious code, spam, or content that infringes another party's rights.
- Resell or redistribute access to OpenBell without our written permission.
- Use OpenBell to provide regulated financial advice to third parties.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
5. Your Content
You retain ownership of the trade data, notes, and other content you upload ("Your Content"). You grant OpenBell a limited license to host, process, and display Your Content solely to operate and improve the service for you. We do not sell Your Content.
6. Not Financial Advice
OpenBell is for educational and informational purposes only. Nothing in the product constitutes investment advice, a recommendation, or a solicitation to buy or sell any security. You alone are responsible for your trading decisions. See our Not Financial Advice Disclaimer for details.
7. Third-Party Services
OpenBell uses third-party providers including Stripe (payments), Supabase (hosting and database), and market data providers. Their terms and privacy practices apply to the portions of the service they power.
8. Disclaimers
OpenBell is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, accurate, or that it will produce any particular trading outcome.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, OpenBell and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any trading losses, lost profits, or lost data. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid OpenBell in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) USD $50.
10. Termination
You may stop using OpenBell at any time by canceling your subscription and/or deleting your account from Settings. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms or for non-payment. Upon termination, your right to use the service ends immediately.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
